Dr. John Douglas Hudson has a remarkable career in neurology and sleep medicine, marked by numerous groundbreaking achievements. Recognizing a pressing need, he established the first neurological practice, Austin Neurological Clinic, in 1970. Driven by his commitment to innovation, he introduced the community's first CT scanner and later followed with the introduction of the first MRI scanner. In his unwavering pursuit of knowledge and service, he established Austin's inaugural dedicated sleep lab in 1980, eventually becoming the city's first board-certified sleep physician in 1999.

In 2001, Dr. Hudson founded Sleep Medicine Consultants, a pioneering practice that revolutionizes sleep disorder management through its state-of-the-art sleep testing facility, The Sleep Center of Austin. Going beyond the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea, the practice offers comprehensive care for all sleep-related disorders.
Dr. Hudson's expertise in sleep medicine has earned him national recognition as a thought leader in the field. He is frequently sought after as a lecturer and plays a vital role as a principal investigator at Future Search Trials of Neurology, contributing to the advancement of new procedures and medications aimed at restoring healthy sleep patterns worldwide. Even today, his primary focus remains on research, actively conducting trials.

In 2022, Dr. Bhavim Desai assumed the responsibility of overseeing operations at Sleep Medicine Consultants, building upon the foundation laid by Dr. Hudson. Dr. Hudson's contributions have left an indelible mark on the field of sleep medicine, and his dedication to advancing knowledge and improving patient care continues to shape the industry.
